Cleaning and maintenance of your acrylic bath

Cleaning and maintenance of your acrylic bath

It is easy to clean and maintain your acrylic bath, thanks to the smooth, pore-free surface. Our guarantee does not cover damage due to improper use or cleaning.

Daily cleaning

For normal daily cleaning, use a chamois or a soft cloth with a liquid cleaner. It is best to use a degreasing cleaning agent or an all-purpose cleaner marked as suitable for acrylics. Rinse thoroughly and you are done. Certain substances in tap water, such as iron, calcium and other minerals can attach themselves to the acrylic surface over time. You can easily remove this dirt by simply using a little vinegar or an anti-limescale product.

Please note

Never use a (liquid) abrasive. This will damage the acrylic surface and cause it to become matte.Do not expose your bath to acids, ammonia, unblocker, hair dye or bleach, as this will affect the top layer. Hair dye always leaves behind a thin haze of the relevant colour, and should be rinsed off and removed immediately. Never, ever use a lime-scale remover designed for cleaning hot water equipment, since it contains chemicals that can discolour the acrylic surface permanently. In addition, never allow organic solvents such as turpentine, acetone or white spirit to touch the acrylic.

Maintenance

If the surface of your gloss white bath does become lightly damaged due to the use of an abrasive or scratching, you can easily repair this damage using a polishing agent (a car polish, for instance). Deeper scratches and blemishes can be removed, we recommend a professional undertake this, by sanding the damage using sandpaper (500 to 1000 grit). Once the damage has been removed, sand the spot using sandpaper with a finer grit (1200). And finally, treat the spot using a polishing paste until the spot is no longer visible.

Please note

Ask your dealer for advice on the maintenance of a bath with a matte colour.

Warranty

  • Aqualux offers a up to 10 year warranty from the date of purchase on your acrylic bath.
  • We recommend professional installation and always follow the instructions in the manual during installation and maintenance.
  • The warranty only applies to demonstrable material irregularities and manufacturing errors, insofar as these can be attributed to the product.
Cleaning and maintenance of your whirlpool

Cleaning and maintenance of your whirlpool

In order to be able to enjoy your whirlpool for a long time, it is important to observe the points below. Our guarantee does not cover damage due to improper use, maintenance or cleaning.

Cleaning your massage system

Depending on the type of product, the use of soaps, salts and bath oils can cause slivers and flakes. These slivers and flakes will attach themselves to the pipes of the system. When the system is started, the slivers and flakes then mix themselves in with the bath water. It is therefore necessary to flush the pipes regularly with a whirlpool bathtub cleaner. Depending on the frequency of use of the whirlpool, we recommend that you clean the pipes at least once a month. Ask your dealer for more advice on whirlpool cleaners.

Please note

When purchasing bath oil, check that the oil emulsifies in water (creates a milky compound). Good oil completely disperses in water and does not leave a greasy rim. If in doubt, we recommend you use bath salt or bath perfumes instead of oils.

We recommend that you remove the drain plug while you shower in the bath or wash your hair. This means the drain can flush away any hair more easily and you ensure that the pump does not suck in hair and circulates it around the bath when you use the massage system next time. Also carefully rinse the drain afterwards with the hand shower.

Never mix whirlpool cleaner, bath cleaner and disinfectant together (not even in bath water). The chemical components of these products do not tolerate each other.

Warranty

  • Aqualux offers a up to 5 year warranty from the date of purchase on your whirlpool.
  • We recommend professional installation and always follow the instructions in the manual during installation and maintenance.
  • The warranty only applies to demonstrable material irregularities and manufacturing errors, insofar as these can be attributed to the product.
Cleaning and maintenance of your showers and accessories

Cleaning and maintenance of your showers and accessories

Skin and haircare products like shampoos, shower gels and liquid soaps can damage sanitary fittings. This includes soap residue in soap containers, shampoo and shower gel residue on bottle holders and toilet cleaner residue on the toilet brush handle. To prevent damage and complaints related to both the use and cleaning of your accessories and showers, we recommend following the cleaning recommendations provided here. Our guarantee does not cover damage due to improper use or cleaning.

Daily maintenance

After each use of your accessories and showers, we recommend:

  • Cleaning the product with a little soap and a moist cloth. There is often no need to use harsh detergents. Rinse and wipe dry after cleaning.
  • Rinse your toilet brush thoroughly with water after using toilet cleaners to prevent the cleaning agent from forming residue on the handle and damaging the metal.
  • Prevent soap build-up on the end of the soap dispenser pump by cleaning the pump thoroughly and removing all residue. Dried-up soap can damage the metal and clog the pump.
  • Prevent lime stains by drying all accessories, taps and showers with a soft cloth immediately after use. If limescale builds up, you can remove it using a mild cleaning agent.

Please note

The following products damage surfaces and can cause scratching or dulling of your accessories and shower. We advise against using the following products:

  • Cleaning agents containing hydrochloric acid, other acids or bleach.
  • Household vinegar or cleaning agents containing vinegar.
  • Abrasives, scouring pads and microfibre cloths.
  • Limescale removers.

Warranty

Aqualux offers a up to a 5 year warranty from the date of purchase on the shower products and up to 12 year warranty from the date of purchase on the accessory products.

  • Always follow the instructions in the manual during installation.
  • The warranty only applies to demonstrable material irregularities and manufacturing errors, insofar as these can be attributed to the product.
